The Shape of the Inconstruable Question

Spent the day blind-reviewing an article for a journal, an article which restored my faith in scholarship. A really excellent piece of writing full of novel lines of thought, elegantly, powerfully yet never overstatedly expressed. Along with pausing to read the very thought-provoking words of Grundlegung on disenchantment, Owen’s review of Bloch, and Monbiot’s good work on the population myth (best read here to avoid the mad Malthusian replies from CiF readers) I’ve had time for almost none of my own work. But sometimes it’s better that way.
